The three options below reflect the three general types of courses offered through the University of Iowa (UI).





  • On~Campus Courses are those which meet on the UI campus in Iowa City.


  • Extension Courses either meet in classrooms located off-campus or are conducted through the Iowa Communications Network (ICN)., on the Web, or as telecourses broadcast by Iowa Public Television, and including Evening MBA Programs.


  • Guided Independent Study (GIS) Courses, also known as Distance Education Courses, are offered through the Center for Credit Programs (CCP) and end with :EXY or :EXZ.
